Milan Karamarko
Croatian-Australian community leader and businessman who served as president of The Croatian Club Adelaide on multiple occasions in the 1980s and early–1990s, and received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1982 for his service to ethnic welfare and the Croatian community.

Community Leader, Businessman. (Krušvo, 21 May 1921 - Adelaide, 17 May 2018).
After completing his formal education in Krušvo, Karamarko later migrated to Australia, where he established a successful business operating from 1958 to 1995. His commitment to public service was demonstrated through his role as Justice of the Peace from 1982 to 1984.
Karamarko's most significant contributions were to the Croatian community in South Australia. He served as President of The Croatian Club Adelaide on multiple occasions in the 1980s and early 1990s, during which time he coordinated the construction of the new Croatian Club Adelaide, which served as a sports, cultural, and social centre for the community. He also played a key role in establishing the nearby Croatian Catholic Centre. His tireless work for the Croatian community was formally recognised when he received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) on 14 June 1982, as part of The Queen's Birthday Honours List. The citation noted his service to ethnic welfare and the Croatian community.
Karamarko held life membership of The Croatian Club Adelaide and was a Foundation Member of the King Tomislav Club in Sydney, demonstrating his commitment to Croatian cultural and social life across Australia. He died in Adelaide on 17 May 2018, leaving behind a legacy of community service and cultural leadership that continues to inspire the Croatian-Australian community.
